I'm a regular guy, who knew he needed to exercise to keep his health up and be around for his family. I tried a ton of things, but nothing really stuck. Boredom, plateaus, isolation, loss of interest. Until I found CrossFit. Constantly varied, always improving (the numbers don't lie!), in a community that never lets you feel alone. A friend said it best, and it's stuck with me: We all need to exercise for our health and well-being...why not do it somewhere you can have fun with your friends!
As an overweight person for all of my childhood and most of my adult life, I developed some unhealthy habits and poor coping strategies. When I was told at a young age that I had early-onset heart disease, and with a family history of heart attacks, I had two little kids at home and knew I needed to make a change. I knew I needed to exercise....but, with all those unhealthy habits developed over all those years, I knew I needed something that would keep me interested, engaged, and motivated. I found CrossFit by accident, and have never looked back. The community, the constantly varied workouts, and the results are truly unmatched. And I have my health back, and my life back, because of it.
I was never athletic or fit, and I'm a regular guy - I had a corporate job, a family, kids, and I loved pizza and beer, pasta and wine (still do!). But I found a way to get my fitness back, in a community that is incredibly amazing, in a way that makes me love what I do. If I can do it, you can too - and I love helping people overcome that fear and doubt and get their lives back too!
